Beech House FAQ

Check in is anytime after 4pm. Check out is anytime before 10am.  You may leave bags earlier or later in the post room at front of house at your own risk.  We can let you know if room is ready earlier if you need. Room access codes will be sent via your Booking.com or Airbnb messaging app or via email if you've booked directly on our website between 1-3pm on check-in day. 

We will arrange your beds into our default twin beds.  Please request before 11am of check-in day if you need a different bed arrangement.

Room 1 = 2 single sofa beds (pushed together to make a double if requested)

Room 2 =  2 single sofa beds (pushed together to make a double if requested)

Room 3 =  2 single sofa beds (pushed together to make a double if requested)

Apartment 5 =  1 double (+1 or 2 sofa bed if requested)

You may use 1 free parking space only for the duration of your stay in an available bay (IN FRONT OF HOUSE).  Take care to not block access or exit to garden & front of house.

PLEASE NOTE

We charge £5 a day for unarranged parking and an additional £20 to move the car if required. Should the car keys not be available for a car parked without prior agreement additional fees will be applicable if we have to get the vehicle professionally removed by a subcontractor.

Price does not include breakfast but we have complimentary tea, coffee & milk with kettle and you may bring your own food & make use of the microwave, toaster & fridge.  There are plates, cups and cutlery in the rooms. 

The water jug in your room is tap water.  You may fill this up again if you need using the tap in the bathroom.

We currently do not provide a printing service.  Please request from the Forge Motel reception by the traffic lights near the airport roundabout.  Alternatively, many electronic boarding passes can be downloaded onto your phone & are accepted via smart phone QR and bar codes.  Please check this in advance of your requirement.

The bathroom is located on the 1st floor at very end of the corridoor.  It is the un-numbered door.

There is ample WiFi available at the property via a BT connection.  WiFi access codes will be sent between 1-3pm on check-in day.

The walk from Bristol Airport Terminal to Beech House is approximately 20 minutes, however this walk includes a fairly steep downhill and uphill stretch so it may take longer, especially if you have bags or struggle to walk. Whilst there is a pavement/walk way for nearly all of the journey, please do take the upmost care, especially at night as you do need to cross one major road where cars come from 3 different directions (this road is the only part without a pavement/walk way). If you have heavy bags and/or are not comfortable with a 20 minute walk up and downhill, please do consider a taxi (see below).

Beech House itself is signed outside and you will receive a message with a Google Pin for the exact location. To help further, especially at night, we can confirm that when coming from the airport, the entrance a left turn immediately in front of a very large Beech Tree. On this tree there are lights around a sign which says "Phoenix Panacea". Immediately after this tree, there is a long white wall, so this is past the entrance. Please do use the Google Pin, especially if arriving by car at night. The Google Pin is for use with the Google Maps app, which is available for free on all smartphones. It provides you with the exact location of Beech House, and the app can provide specific driving or walking instructions.

Taxi options:

The quickest way to get a taxi is to book via mobile apps using Uber, Bolt or Ola mobile app.

Taxi's are usually 1 minute away.  Or hailed from the taxi terminal at the airport. The most reliable taxi company based at the airport are Arrow Cars. You can book with them online here -  Official Taxi Partner at Bristol Airport - Exclusive Pickup/Drop-off Points (arrowcars.co.uk) or you can call them on +44 1275 47500. Unfortunately, we are unable to book taxis on your behalf as all companies now only want to deal directly with their customers.

Bristol Airport

Walk to the airport in 20 minutes or walk to the nearest bus stop outside Forge Motel in 7 minutes then catch the bus there.  For travelling to and from Bristol Airport we advise booking your taxis in advance or giving plenty of time to walk or bus there.

The airport Flyer and other buses stop by Forge Motel and airport Tavern, 7 mins walk from Beech House.

1 large towel, 1 bathmat and 1 face towel is provided.  We want to reduce the impact on the environment.  We therefore kindly ask guests to not take our white towels and bed blankets outside our home. Because we have experienced high volume of stained, ripped and missing towels, If you need one outside the home, we offer grey towels for hire. 

We have hair dryers available in each room.  We provide shower gel and hand gel but do not provide shampoo, face wash or other hair styling devices due to different skin and hair sensitivities.  

 We have an iron and Ironing board available for guests inside the bedroom.

There are stairs leading to Room 2, room 3 and the shared toilet & bathroom.  Room 1 is the only room on the ground floor.  The bathroom & toilet is also on the 1st floor.  Apartment 5 is the only room with all private facilities on the ground floor.

Please be mindful of the location of your room & bathroom location when choosing your room.

We provide a laundry service for personal items at an additional cost of £30 per laundry bag upon availability.  Wash, dry and fold within 48 hrs.  See bags provided in your cupboard.  We do not provide dry cleaning or accept risk for loss or damages to delicates.  You can book laundry service tel: +447874166933 to receive an order payment link.

We currently do not provide a shopping service or errands outside of retreats, accommodation and therapies.  However, we are only 10 minutes drive both directions. Towards Bristol is a to 24/7 Budgens petrol garage where you will be able to purchase most basic items and toiletries. Going towards and past the airport for about 10 minutes there is another petrol station with a much bigger shop and Subway. This is also open 24/7. During the day only there is a community shop in the village of Winford, which is only a 5 minute car journey.

There are many wonderful places to eat and drink nearby. Please contact the venue ahead to check, if you have special dietary requirements:

Other than the airport site itself, within walking distance (both approximately 20 minutes walk) there is the George & Dragon in Felton and the Fox & Goose. The George & Dragon is a country type pub known for good pub-style food. Please note that during the week it is only open in the evenings and it does not serve food on Sunday evenings. The Fox & Goose is on the same main road as Beech House heading towards Bristol, not the airport. This is a Marstons Brewery pub with an extensive outside area. Please do call in advance for both to make sure they can fit you in if you want food.

If you have transport, a further country pub is The Prince of Waterloo in Winford which is a 5-6 minute car journey. If you would like something slightly more formal, there is an Italian restaurant called La Campagna situated in what was previously a pub. This is under 10 minutes drive towards Bristol (opposite way from the airport) and is very close to the Shell garage and Budgens shop mentioned in the section above. Slightly further out, beyond the Italian is The Inn at Yanleigh who have a large restaurant. As stated, please do call ahead as all can be booked up for food on occasion. 

Google or whatever map provider you use will be able to provide the best directions whether walking or driving.

You may smoke in the garden or outside of the premises.  Please kindly do not litter the grounds with cigarette ends and instead dispose in the bins in front of the house.

No smoking is permitted inside the property or hanging out the open window or doorways.  You will be asked to leave premises under mis conduct without return if found to do so.  We have sensitive fire & smoke alarm systems throughout and all guests have the right to stay smoke free in our rooms.
